Choosing The Best Long-Term Care Facility

By Valley View

What Is Long-Term Care?

In general, Long-term care is the set of medical and non-medical services delivered to individuals who cannot otherwise care for themselves, usually as a result of some life-altering medical situation. These services are primarily focused on ensuring these individuals maintain an optimal level of independence,  good health, and overall quality of life, regardless of what conditions they might otherwise be managing.

Contrary to popular thinking, there are many people outside of the senior citizen community who require long-term care. While it’s true that, as people get older, they become susceptible to illness or disability. But what about those patients who have suffered a heart attack or stroke, or have been in a traumatic accident that left them incapacitated at some level? These individuals also require long-term care, regardless of their age range.

While long-term care can be defined as care provided by different care givers, including the care provided at home by friends and family members, the term is most often associated with the care provided in designated facilities employed by a trained and skilled staff.

We believe Valley View Residential Care Facility offers the best option possible for someone in need of long-term care. Our facility location, amenities and care philosophy makes Valley View Care Facility among the very best options for ensuring your loved ones receive the lodging, treatment, and care that’s best for everyone.

Who Needs Long-Term Care?

Long-term care is an ideal solution for individuals who are no longer able to take care of themselves as a result of their medical diagnosis, and cannot receive the level of personalized, ’round-the-clock care needed from family members or loved ones.

Valley View RCF is a specialized 24-hour long-term care facility that’s able to provide that level of constant expert care that your loved ones deserve. We do this through a foundation built on three key tenets: senior mental health, complex medical needs, and neurological care.

We specialize in providing best-in-class care for patients diagnosed with conditions including Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, or are suffering from other neurological conditions, including those resulting from a TBI or SPI.

Our care staff lead residents through care-focused activities that will help them engage in social, cognitive, spiritual, physical, sensory stimulation.

And our team provides hands-on care for the acute medical needs of our patients, through everything associated with one’s “normal” daily routine, like bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, exercising, along with numerous other activities to keep them active and engaged.

Services Provided In Long-Term Care

Think about all the routine activities we perform as part of our daily lives. Unfortunately, those individuals who are managing a serious neurological condition or disability are no longer able to perform these activities as easily as we can.

At Valley View RCF, we believe in providing the very best care for patients who many not be able to fully take care for themselves.  That starts with those daily activities, including personal hygiene, cooking, eating, being active, etc. But, it extends so much further than that.

Our nursing staff coordinates with outside medical staff like doctors and pharmacies, to ensure our residents receive the proper continuum of care.

Our chefs prepare meals based on the principal of good nutrition, and we work closely with patients and their families to identify the right kinds of foods that will help with their conditions and treatment.

And for patients who are able to take advantage of it, we also arrange for transportation both to and from medical appointments, as well as other locations within the community.
